The tau vessel is created from a mosaic of handmade glass. The largest tile in the mosaic was created by spiraling white filaments of glass in opposite directions, creating a crisscross pattern. Each of the tile elements interact with each other as you look through the transparent elements of the mosaic. The texture on the inside of the vessel is the result of the fusing process, which allows passing light to bend and distort the pattern, highlighting the interior space that exists only in the perception of the viewer.
