The kage vessel (pronounced kah-gay) is made of individually handcrafted tiles of glass that are fused together, attached to a blowpipe and then coated in several layers of colorless molten glass. Jeff was inspired by shadows; as you look through the vessel, the “shadow” of the dominant portion of the pattern is seen on the opposite side of the vessel. Kage is the Japanese word for shadow.
